Aditya-L1: ISRO to launch India’s first solar mission, date and how and where to watch livestream and more

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is preparing to launch its first solar mission, Aditya-L1, on September 2, 2023. The mission aims to study the sun from an orbit around Lagrangian Point 1 (L1), allowing for continuous observation without hindrance from eclipses. Aditya-L1 will carry seven payloads to observe different aspects of the sun, including the corona. The largest payload is the Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC), which will image the faint corona by cutting out the light from the sun’s disk. The data collected will contribute to a deeper understanding of space weather.
