United Airlines halt flights for an hour over software issues

United Airlines had to temporarily halt all flights in the US due to a computer malfunction. The airline requested the Federal Aviation Administration to pause departures nationwide, but operations were resumed just an hour later. The issue was caused by a software update and not a cybersecurity concern. This incident follows a similar technical problem experienced by the UK’s air traffic control system, resulting in the cancellation of over 500 flights in and out of British airports.
